8-Days Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
Meet your climbing team, have a briefing, and equipment check.
Rest and prepare for the climb.
Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa (2,650m/8,694ft)
After breakfast, transfer to the Lemosho Gate (starting point of the trek).
Start hiking through the lush rainforest.
Reach Mti Mkubwa campsite and spend the night.
Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m/11,483ft)
Leave the rainforest and enter the heath and moorland zone.
Ascend through the Shira Plateau, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Set up camp at Shira 1 and rest for the night.
Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,900m/12,795ft)
Continue trekking through the rocky terrain.
Reach the Shira 2 Campsite, located near the Shira Cathedral.
Acclimatize and overnight at Shira 2 Camp.
Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp (3,950m/12,959ft)
Ascend to Lava Tower at 4,630m/15,190ft for acclimatization.
Descend to Barranco Camp, passing through the stunning Barranco Wall.
Overnight at Barranco Camp.
Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,200m/13,780ft)
Continue climbing towards the Karanga Valley.
Traverse through various landscapes, including alpine desert and glacial valleys.
Reach Karanga Camp and rest for the night.
Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,600m/15,092ft)
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt.
Rest and prepare for the summit push.
Have an early dinner and get some sleep before the final ascent.
Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) and descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m/10,170ft)
Start the summit attempt around midnight.
Trek to Stella Point (5,739m/18,829ft) and continue to the highest point, Uhuru Peak.
Celebrate and take photos at the summit before descending.
Descend to Mweka Camp for the night.
Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and departure
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate.
Receive your summit certificates and say goodbye to the climbing team.
Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha for a well-deserved rest.
