Serengeti Migration

Wildebeest are antelopes that can grow up to 8 feet long and weigh up to 600 pounds. They are related to oryxes and gazelles, and they typically inhabit the Serengeti plains of southeastern Africa. Wildebeest migrate in a large loop every year, following the seasonal rains. The annual migration northwest, at the end of the rainy season, is recognized as one of the “Seven Wonders of the Natural World.”

You can witness this amazing event in Serengeti, the heart of Tanzania. We offer affordable packages that include game drives, hot air balloon rides, and more.

Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha.

  • Stay overnight at African Tulip Hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

  • After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park.

  • Visit a local village and enjoy a hot local lunch.

  • Go on a game drive in the afternoon and see monkeys, giraffes, elephants, hippos, impalas, and lots of birds.

  • Stay overnight at Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp on full board basis.

Day 3: Manyara – Ndutu Area

  • After breakfast, drive to Ndutu Area.

  • Go on a game drive in the Ndutu area, where the great migration takes place between January and April.

  • See lots of animals, including lions, cheetahs, and black rhinos.

  • Stay overnight at Mbugani Migration Camp on full board basis.

Day 4-6: Serengeti (Ndutu Area)

  • Spend three days exploring the Ndutu area, going on game drives and seeing all the amazing wildlife.

  • Stay overnight at Mbugani Migration Camp on full board basis.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro crater

  • After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park.

  • Go on a game drive in the Serengeti, home to the largest concentration of big mammals in the world.

  • See elephants, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, buffalos, and many more.

  • Stay overnight at Tanzania Bush Camp on full board basis.

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro crater

  • After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater.

  • Go on a game drive on the crater floor, where you can see endangered black rhinos, pink flamingos, hyenas, gazelles, warthogs, jackals, lions, and cheetahs.

  • Stay overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on full board basis.

Day 9: Ngorongoro – Kilimanjaro International Airport

  • After breakfast, drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

  • Depart for your home.
